Some time ago, Universitas Andalas with 5 other universities that are members of the Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) carried out a Virtual Teen Talk Project+ activity. In this activity, there were 4 groups who presented the results of their discussions on “Scaling Up Social Entrepreneurship in Developing Countries, Is it More Suitable for Future Economic Growth?”, and each group consisted of students from different universities.
Muhammad Rulli Effendi, an International Management student at Universitas Andalas, was one of the presenters in Group A, along with other students from Syiah Kuala University, Universiti Malaysia Perlis, Thanksin University, Universiti Utara Malaysia and Prince of Songkla University. In the event which was held on August 12, 2021, there were more than 700 participants from various countries, and group A became the best group based on votes of all participants.
After being the best group in this event, in an interview with Universitas Andalas International Office team with Ruli, Ruli said, “… It was so nice to have an experince to meet the students from the other countries. It made us know other culture and also about the economic condition in their country, especially related to the topic which is Social Entrepreneurship. How the social entrepreneurship is growing in each country. It was so fun and enriched my knowledge about the social entrepreneurship condition in those three countries, and i also got some new friends.…”
