The International Summer Course on Etno-food and Cultural Beauty of Miangkabau is a unique academic and cultural immersion program organized by Universitas Andalas, Indonesia. This three-day event invites international and local participants to explore the rich culinary heritage and cultural traditions of the Minangkabau people-one of the world's largest matrilineal societies with deeply rooted values in art, food, and philosophy. By combinig lecturer, hands-on workshops, cultural perfomances, and filed visits, this summer course offers an integrative experience that not only highlights the culinary excellence of West Sumatra, but also the intricate relationship between food, identity, and social structure in Minangkabau society.
