On Wednesday, October 16, 2024. Universitas Andalas received a visit from the Director of UniKL International Office (UIO), Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) Malaysia, Dr. Nadia Razali, and UniKL's director of collaboration development, Prof. Dr. Ilham Sentosa, MPA. Also in the group of doctoral candidates, is Ranny Fitriana Faisal, BPM, MHRM, lecturer at the Faculty of Economics, Campus II (Payakumbuh) who is studying in the doctoral program at UniKl. Secretary University, Dr. Aidinil Zetra, S.IP., MA, representing the Chancellor, accompanied by the Head of the International Office, Dr. Rina Marnita AS, MA, warmly welcomed the arrival of these two guests from Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL), Malaysia.
The meeting at 16:00 WIB was also attended by Arpentius and Franky as representatives of the Directorate of Research Collaboration and Downstreaming, Universitas Andalas.
The main purpose of this guest visit from UniKl was to discuss possibilities for collaboration between the two universities. Both universities have the same vision and mission regarding the internationalization of higher education. Among the forms of cooperation discussed are short-term programs, such as student mobility (Summer Course, Cultural Camp, Student Internships, Student Exchange) and staff mobility (Guest lecturer, Research Collaboration, Student Supervision Collaboration). Collaboration between the two universities is also planned through other non-degree programs such as credit-earning and degree programs. The results of the discussions and agreements will later be outlined in a Letter of Intent (LI) which is bound by a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two universities.
It is hoped that this meeting is the beginning of discussions on long-term and sustainable cooperation between the two universities to improve and enrich the educational experience of students and lecturers, and to enhance the global reputation of both universities.
